This project launched in September 2026.
Overview
As part of Climate Week, Afghan women and their children enjoyed a morning of guided meditation, nature walks, and reflection at Yale West Campus, in partnership with Yale School of Nursing. A meaningful opportunity to learn how to connect with nature as a means to reduce stress, and nurture well-being.
The Yale School of Nursing led a hands-on First Aid Workshop, helping women develop essential skills to respond to common injuries and emergencies. Through practical demonstrations and interactive learning, participants gained knowledge and confidence in caring for themselves and their families.
In partnership with Yale School of Medicine’s Department of OB-GYN, CRIW is hosting a year-long, monthly series on Women's Health topics in response to community members' interests and priorities.
With women living in West Haven, OB-GYN Dr. Rasa Forati led the first workshop on menstruation creating a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and share experiences.
